Using Alternative Bank Products (Step 4)
Now that your account has activity, you should go back to your main contact with the bank and inquire if the bank has an overdraft protection account. If there is, get it! Overdraft protection can actually act line a line of credit for the business.
As you are talking with your contact, ask him or her about the other bank products for your business. Show interest in the products your contact is explaining to you so they feel like there are multiple opportunities to gain your business. This is your first opportunity to sell yourself and your business to get your contract to become your advocate. Allow the bank to ͞pitch͟ you on their products. Your small talk should be focused on your successful business and the growth you are experiencing. You will want to slip in ͞business lines of credit͟ into your conversation and state that one could be useful for your business continued growth – leave it at that.
